Yes. Every setting in the Configure section has an inline help icon (ⓘ) that explains what it does and how it affects your posts. There's also a help panel accessible from the ? button in the top navigation — it's searchable and covers all configuration options. New users can take a guided tour that walks through the key settings.

A generic AI writer starts from a prompt and leaves you the rest: finding the topic, supplying context, verifying the source, editing, scheduling, and publishing. PostForge starts from the subjects that define your practice and manages the full path — it finds a relevant development, reads the source, drafts a post shaped by your voice profile (and by your own take if you add one), runs quality and duplicate checks, and publishes to LinkedIn on your schedule. You review the draft instead of assembling the post.

Yes. Once a source is selected, PostForge fetches and reads the full article before drafting, so the post starts from the source material rather than the headline. If you paste your own article URL instead, PostForge reads that article under the same pipeline.

Yes. When you click Run now, you can choose Custom URL and paste any article link. PostForge will fetch the article content and draft a post from it, skipping the discovery step.

The time frame you set (e.g. 7 days) controls when articles were discussed, shared, or engaged with across platforms — not necessarily when the original article was first published. For example, a Reddit post linking to a 3-month-old article that received new comments this week will appear in your results because it was actively surfaced within your chosen window. Similarly, web search may return evergreen or foundational content that remains highly relevant to your topic regardless of its original publish date. This ensures you don't miss important articles that are trending or being discussed right now.

Yes. Review is the default: you see the source, edit anything that is not right, and approve before it publishes. If you later turn on auto-publish for scheduled runs, drafts that pass every check can go out without that step — you can switch back at any time.

Draft mode holds every post for your review before publishing — you approve or edit each one. In Auto-publish mode, posts that pass the quality checks go straight to LinkedIn without review. You can switch between modes anytime in Automation settings. Start with Draft mode and move to Auto-publish once the output has earned your trust.

PostForge doesn't support editing posts after they're published. However, you can edit any of your published posts directly on LinkedIn — just go to the post on LinkedIn and use their edit option. PostForge publishes the initial draft, but all post-publish edits need to be made on LinkedIn itself.

Post performance analytics (impressions and engagement) are on the roadmap. Today, the Posts page gives you the full history of your runs and published posts — including drafts, approvals, and publishing status — so you can track everything PostForge has published from day one.

No. PostForge publishes the post itself through the official LinkedIn API — it does not publish first comments, replies, or engagement. Commenting on your own posts remains a manual, human step.

Every post passes a strict set of checks: word count limits, no markdown, and the formatting rules you set in your voice profile — by default, no em-dashes or parentheses. Phrasing that reads as machine-written is flagged for your attention rather than rejected, so a precise technical term you would actually use stays in the post. Articles are checked against your post history so the same source is not reused, and posts that fail a check are never auto-published: they are held for your manual review, with each issue highlighted so you can fix the draft and approve it yourself.

No, and we do not claim it. Reading the source material and running quality checks improve context and consistency, but they do not verify that every claim in a draft is correct. You remain responsible for reviewing what gets published — which is why review is the default rather than full automation.

Yes. PostForge checks every discovered article URL against your entire post history before drafting. If you've already published about that article, it's filtered out automatically.

Voice & Brand lets you choose a writing voice preset (Professional, Conversational, or Bold) or create a custom voice profile trained on your own writing samples. Custom profiles analyze your existing posts to match your personal style, vocabulary, and sentence structure.

No. A take is optional: without one, PostForge drafts from the source and your voice profile. When you add one, the draft is built around your position rather than summarising the article. Takes you reuse can be saved and picked again while shaping a draft.

Posts default to a concise length of about 150 words, which performs well on LinkedIn. You can change the target any time in Voice & Brand settings — from short (~75 words) up to in-depth (~375 words).

Yes, optionally. You can enable AI-generated images in Voice & Brand settings. Prefer your own artwork? In Create Post you can upload an image instead — it is checked and automatically cropped to the same square format as generated visuals, and is available on every plan, including the free trial. Choose from six visual themes (Corporate, Editorial, Bold, etc.) and control composition style. Advanced users can override mood, style, and layout energy, or add custom instructions for fine-grained control over the generated images.

During early access the free trial gives you 10 LinkedIn posts total. AI-generated images and publishing to X, Threads, or Bluesky require a subscription — you can still attach your own uploaded image to a post. It's a lifetime cap, not a monthly reset — once you've used your 10 posts, you'll need to subscribe (or buy the one-time flexible pack) to keep publishing.

Yes. You can cancel at any time — there is no long-term contract and no cancellation fee. Posts already published to LinkedIn stay on LinkedIn. Your plan's billing period and what happens at cancellation are set out in the Terms of Service.

You can schedule posts to publish daily, weekly, or on weekdays only. You choose the time for each schedule, and it uses your auto-detected timezone.

Yes. You can update, pause, or disable your schedule at any time from the Automation page. Changes take effect immediately for the next scheduled run.

Not as a separate calendar view. Your schedule — the days and the time window posts go out in — lives in Automation, the Overview shows whether automation is active, and every post queued for its window (plus any draft kept after a missed window) is listed in Posts under Scheduled.

When someone signs up with your invite link and publishes their first post, you earn a reward: +1 free month on a paid plan, or +3 extra trial posts on a trial (up to 21 posts total). One reward is granted per friend.

PostForge is a fully automated publishing engine, while saywhat.ai is an AI-assisted content creation toolkit. PostForge automatically discovers relevant articles from the web based on your topics, generates complete drafts, and publishes directly to LinkedIn via official API integration — all on your schedule, with no manual writing required. In contrast, saywhat.ai requires you to browse an inspiration database, write and edit posts manually with AI help, and publish through your browser. Yes. PostForge uses LinkedIn's official OAuth 2.0 authentication and only requests the permissions needed to publish posts on your behalf. Your credentials are stored securely and never shared.

PostForge requests the standard LinkedIn scopes for profile access and post publishing (openid, profile, email, w_member_social). It does not request access to your messages, connections, or groups.

Yes, with an MCP client. Settings → MCP access issues a token you connect to your PostForge MCP endpoint. The token acts as you within its scope — read-only, draft only, or full access that can approve posts — so the same topics, voice, review rules, and post limits apply. Revoke the token any time and that client loses access.

No. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We only disclose it to the service providers who run the product for us (hosting, email delivery, AI models, search, analytics, payments) — they are listed at thepostforge.ai/subprocessors — and to LinkedIn and PayPal, which act under their own privacy notices.

Yes. Settings → Emails and data has a Delete my account button — deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. You can also download a copy of your data (JSON) from the same section, or contact us if you prefer we handle it. Deletion removes your PostForge account, posts, schedule and settings; posts already published to LinkedIn stay on LinkedIn.

Turn off Tips and reminders in Settings → Emails and data, or click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any reminder email — it works without signing in. Account emails you need, such as sign-in and publishing failures, and billing notices, are always sent.

Only one essential cookie (your signed-in session) is set by default. Product analytics with PostHog only starts if you accept it — the banner appears on your first visit, nothing is collected before you choose, and you can change your mind any time in Settings → Emails and data. We use no advertising cookies, and we do not copy the text you select in the app.

Settings → Emails and data → Disconnect LinkedIn. We revoke the grant at LinkedIn and delete the tokens we hold, so nothing can be published until you reconnect. You can also revoke access from your LinkedIn account settings at any time. Posts already published stay on LinkedIn — delete those on LinkedIn.

Our hosting, email, AI, search, analytics and payment providers are listed with their roles and locations at thepostforge.ai/subprocessors. PostForge is operated from Canada, our application, database and backups are hosted in Toronto, and our other providers process data in the United States; transfers out of the EEA/UK rely on standard contractual clauses.
